Srujna Charitable Trust is dedicated to empowering women, providing them with the tools to earn a respectable income through training, capacity building, market linkages, and self-employment programs. The NGO aims to foster sustained, inclusive economic growth and promote quality and productive employment opportunities.

Major Interventions:

Livelihood Programmes: Srujna's innovative approach involves establishing micro-production units within low-income communities, offering flexible work opportunities for women.

  • Employment and Income Generation: The creation of micro-production units enables women to earn a livelihood, leading to increased household income, improved financial stability, and reduced poverty levels.
  • Skill Development: Srujna focuses on training community women in relevant skills, enhancing their employability within micro-production units and in self-employment ventures.
  • Empowerment: Providing flexible work opportunities empowers women to contribute to household income while managing familial responsibilities, improving self-esteem and decision-making abilities.
  • Community Development: The establishment of micro-production units fosters community collaboration, strengthening social bonds and enhancing overall community well-being.
  • Local Economy: Micro-production units contribute to the local economy by generating income within the community, stimulating other businesses and services in the area.

Project Maitree: Srujna addresses the livelihood and health of women facing circumstances such as poverty, abuse, and human trafficking. The project creates employment opportunities by training women to manufacture reusable sanitary napkins, simultaneously providing access to hygienic menstrual products. The aim is to develop women leaders within this chain of processing that can build their businesses on the manufacturing and sale of these reusable sanitary napkins.

Project Laxmi: Recognizing the importance of financial literacy, Srujna targets households, particularly those from marginalized communities, where women are often kept away from financial decisions. It provides free financial education, helping women understand topics like inflation, savings, and investments. The project includes orientation sessions, a two-month course, and a robust follow-up mechanism to instil the habit of savings and investments.

SuperDidis: It is a project designed to identify leaders within communities and nurture change-makers. , Srujna identifies potential leaders, termed "SuperDidis," coaching them to run the livelihood units and inspire others. Through a three-month course, one-to-one coaching sessions, and community projects, SuperDidis achieve three primary outcomes: increased income for themselves and others, entrepreneurship, and community welfare initiatives. They gain the skills to manage family finances, understand the importance of savings, plan budgets, save for significant goals, and pass on financial knowledge to others in their community and family.
